Do celebrities make for bad role models?

Ifa (pro): In my opinion, celebrities can have a bad impact on their followers because their followers are not only adults who can distinguish right or wrong but there are also young children who still can't distinguish right or wrong. Sometimes whatever their idol does they always thought it was right.

Gina (cons): If it’s on social media children must be monitored by their parents or adults. Since they're still a child and don't know which one is right or wrong, so they should be accompanied.

Fitta (pro): Sometimes parents are busy so they can't always monitor their children and sometimes children secretly access social media.

Tariza (cons): It’s the parent's obligation to always look after their children. While working, parents can entrust their children to trusted people and not all celebrities are bad, there are also many public figures who inspire and lead to a better direction.

Ifa(pro): But it's not only their behavior that can have an impact but when they promote an item. Sometimes their followers don't find out more about the product, they bought it right away.

Gina(cons): I think, the celebrities are just trying to get money from endorse, so if you want, blame the seller, not the celebrities.

Fitta(pro): The celebrities must also make an endorsement video properly, that means don't contain violence or whatever is bad because there will be some who imitate their style because there are some who think following the celebrities is cool.

Tariza (cons): What a celebrity gives or shows can't always be what we expect or want, it's out of our control so we can't control it, but it is ourselves who have to be wise and smart in idolizing the public figures themselves. Do we want to be like a public figure who benefits many people or be like a celebrity who only provides a bad example for the public?

Ifa (pro): Yes, it's for the wise people who can distinguish between good or bad, then what about the people out there who receive a little education, they may find it difficult to distinguish between good or bad. Supposedly, when a celebrity will give to publicize their behavior or work, they should consider what impact it will have on others.

Gina (cons): Well, then it goes back to the person who looks at it instead of the celebrities, because the celebrities are free to deliver or to make a work because it is their job.

Fitta (pro): Most people imitate the celebrities whether it's bad or good. in fact, most of them imitate the bad ones. because people still think that if we imitate celebrities, makes us cool and trendy.

Tariza (cons): Sorry, but I disagree with you. I don't think all the celebrities have such bad effects. Good and bad it depends on how we deal with it. How do we find the idol we want and what we want to imitate our idol. We can be like celebrities who have a good impact on everyone or we can become celebrities who have a bad impact on ourselves and others. So, we can't control the celebrities outside because it's beyond our control, but we can control and choose who will be the role model in everyday life. There is also the role of parents and the environment who must always monitor how we find an idol for us. As a generation that will be leaders in the next 20 to 30 years, we must be wise and clever in using technology and look for a celebrity who will be an example in our lives.
